Women’s Counseling Laguna Hills CA

There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from always being the one to show up for everyone else. The one who keeps the household running. The one who holds things together at work. The one who listens, supports, smooths things over, and quietly absorbs whatever everyone around her can’t handle. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you lost yourself.

Or maybe it’s something else entirely. A relationship that keeps taking more than it gives. A feeling of unworthiness that no amount of accomplishment seems to touch. A pattern of codependency that you can see clearly but can’t seem to break. Whatever is bringing you here, women’s counseling is a space that belongs entirely to you, to be honest about what’s really going on, and to begin to find your way back to yourself.

My name is Ceci Addams, and I’ve been working with women in Laguna Hills, throughout Orange County, and now across California for over two decades. I understand the particular pressures that women navigate, the invisible labor, the relational complexity, the tendency to put everyone else’s needs at the top of the list and wonder why there’s nothing left over for yourself. This work is close to my heart, and I bring everything I have to it.

What Women’s Counseling Can Help With

Women come to me at many different stages of life and with many different concerns. What most of them share is the sense that something needs to shift, in how they see themselves, how they relate to others, or what they’re willing to tolerate. Here are some of the areas we often work on together:

Self-Worth and Self-Esteem

So many women live with an underlying belief that they’re not quite good enough, attractive enough, lovable enough, etc. That belief affects how you show up in your relationships, including having a tendency to engage in negative self-talk, difficulty with expressing your needs to others, and difficulty with setting and honoring your personal boundaries. Women’s counseling helps you examine where those beliefs came from and, more importantly, whether you want to keep living by them.

Codependency, Boundaries, and People-Pleasing

Do you have a hard time saying no, and sticking to it? Do you feel taken advantage of, or like nothing you do is ever good enough? These patterns often develop for good reasons. They may have helped you survive difficult relationships or family dynamics. But at some point they stop protecting you and start limiting you. Together, we explore where the pattern came from and how to build something healthier in its place.

Relationship Issues

Relationships with a partner, a parent, a child, or a friend can be our greatest source of joy, as well as our greatest source of pain, sometimes at the same time. Women’s counseling helps you understand your relational patterns: why you keep choosing the same kinds of people, why certain dynamics feel impossible to change, and what it would look like to have relationships that genuinely nourish you.

Life Transitions

Divorce. An empty nest. A career change. A move. The loss of someone you loved. Major life transitions can shake the ground underneath you even when you chose them, even when they’re objectively good. They force you to renegotiate who you are and what you want, and that’s harder than it sounds. Counseling during transitions helps you move through them with more clarity and less fear.

Anxiety and Overwhelm

Many women I work with describe feeling like they’re always behind, always bracing for the next thing to go wrong, always running on empty. That chronic state of low-grade anxiety is exhausting, and it’s also not inevitable. We work together to understand what’s driving it and to build a different relationship with the uncertainty that life always brings.

Grief and Loss

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t always look the way we expect. It can be the loss of a person, but it can also be the loss of a relationship, a version of your life you expected to have, a dream you held for a long time. Women’s counseling creates a space where grief can be honored without being managed or rushed.

The Impact of a Loved One’s Addiction

If you’re carrying the weight of someone else’s addiction, the pain, the worry, the patterns of caretaking that have shaped your life, that’s its own kind of grief and its own kind of healing journey. Women’s counseling can help you understand how that experience has affected you and begin to find your way back to yourself.

My Approach to Women’s Counseling

I believe that every woman already carries within her the answers she’s looking for. My job isn’t to hand you a solution or a checklist. It’s to help you hear yourself more clearly, trust yourself more fully, and act from a place that’s genuinely aligned with who you are and what you value.

This isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about coming back to yourself, to your own wisdom, your own voice, your own sense of what a good life looks like for you. That kind of clarity changes everything.

I work with women of all ages and backgrounds, and I bring warmth, honesty, and deep respect to every session. You will not be judged here. You will be supported as you grow, at the pace that’s right for you.

Online Counseling for Women Across California

All of my sessions are currently held online via secure Zoom video, which means you can do this work from anywhere in California. Whether you’re in Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, San Diego, the Bay Area, Sacramento, or a small town somewhere in between, we can begin together. Many women find that online counseling actually deepens the work, because they’re able to be in a space that already feels safe to them. My California license allows me to work with anyone who is physically located in the state, whether you live here full-time or are temporarily here for work, school, or visiting family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is women’s counseling?

Women’s counseling is therapy focused on the specific emotional, relational, and personal challenges that women face. This includes issues around self-worth, codependency, boundaries, people-pleasing, relationship patterns, life transitions, anxiety, and grief. A women’s counselor creates a space where these experiences can be explored honestly, without judgment, and with genuine understanding of what women navigate in their daily lives.

How do I know if women’s counseling is right for me?

If you feel like you’ve lost yourself somewhere in your roles and relationships, or if there’s a pattern in your life you keep running into and can’t seem to change, women’s counseling can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Many women come simply because they want more clarity, more peace, or a stronger sense of who they are and what they want.

What issues do you specialize in for women’s counseling?

I work with women on self-worth and self-esteem, codependency, boundaries and people-pleasing, relationship patterns, life transitions, anxiety and overwhelm, grief and loss, and the impact of a loved one’s addiction. My approach is personal and warm. I’ve been working with women in Laguna Hills, throughout Orange County, and now across California for over two decades.

Is women’s counseling only for women in crisis?

Not at all. Many of the women I work with come in not because something has collapsed, but because something is quietly off, and they’re ready to take it seriously. You don’t need to be at a breaking point to deserve support. In fact, the earlier you reach out, the more choices you have.

How long does women’s counseling take?

That depends on what you’re working on and what you want from the process. Some women find significant clarity and relief in a handful of sessions. Others choose to continue for months or years because they find the work genuinely valuable. We figure out together what’s right for you.

Do you see women only in Laguna Hills?

No. Because I currently offer online counseling only, I work with women anywhere in California. Whether you live here full-time or are temporarily here for work, school, or visiting family, we can do this work together via secure Zoom sessions. My California license covers the entire state.

What should I expect in my first women’s counseling session?

Your first session is really a conversation, a chance for you to share what’s going on and for me to understand what you’re looking for. There’s no agenda you have to follow, and nothing you have to have figured out before you arrive. Just come as you are. We take it from there.

How is your approach to women’s counseling different from other therapists?

I’ve been doing this work for over two decades, and I bring a deeply personal approach to every session. I show up as a real person who genuinely cares about your wellbeing. I will meet you with compassion, no matter what you bring to our session.
